The Virtual Reality Headset uses a pair of per-eye resolution of 2064*2208 pixels. Therefore, allowing users view through flat, thin assembled camera lenses. Additionally, it has three pillars in the headset consisting of a center pill that contains a depth sensor. Therefore, two outer pills that contain a monochrome camera used for positional tracking, and a color camera for mixed reality passthrough. Design

At 18.2 ounces, the Quest 3 is just a hair heavier but noticeably less bulky. The Quest 3’s curved face features four cameras in two vertical stacks, with an infrared emitter between them. Thus two cameras are primarily used for spatial tracking, scanning your surroundings for AR content, and determining the boundaries of your play area. The other two are RGB pass-through cameras that let you view your environment in color. Two additional spatial tracking cameras sit along the headset’s bottom edge.

Hardware

The Quest 3 uses a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor (with an Adreno GPU) that Qualcomm claims has 2.5 times the performance of the Quest 2’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1. The Quest 3 is technically more powerful. Majorly because it uses the Snapdragon XR2+ that’s built on the Gen 1 platform. The Quest 3 features color pass-through cameras that let you see your surroundings much more naturally.

Video Quality

The picture is bright and colorful, with strong contrast and fairly immersive blacks (the face mask’s foam blocks out most light).
